The Native Americans history is not only rich but also very fascinating for various reasons. People have seen some of the toughest times of their lives, making them strong enough to evolve as a strong nation eventually. When the Europeans made their way to this newly discovered land, there were some ten to ninety million Native Americans already living there. The stats range is pretty wide for no records can be traced by the government. These Natives had been residing there for ages and were a little concerned about Englishmen arrival. The Native Americans also migrated to different parts of the continent and were called American Indians by many.
This migration resulted in the formation of large number of tribes and communities, whose ideologies and practices were different from one another. This cult was able to make the best use of their lands by growing crops like maize. They were the ones who highly respected their piece of lands and for the countless gifts those areas had to offer. Fishermen, hunters and cultivators were seen emerging from there with the focus on animal skins, sun dried bricks and lumber as Native Americans history tells. Europeans, on the other hand, were not able to give as much gratitude to these fields.
Native American history shows that natives were not really fans of white men as their behavior with the locals was not good at all. The only thing that impresses the residents were the steel knives, mirrors, copper kettles and other novelties brought by Europeans, things that were never seen by natives ever before. Unfortunately, such novelties were used by the Europeans to invade the American lands and spreading fear and terror among the tribes. This was not the only threat brought by those men, many fatal diseases including small pox, chicken pox and measles were few of the other “novelties” that came along.
According to the Native Americans history, colonists and explorers killed high number of the population not using dangerous weapons but deadly diseases. The number of people living in these areas fell day by day as families were distorted by taking away their children by the invaders with the aim of civilizing them. The arrogance and pride of Englishmen seemed never ending as their behavior also resulted in the Indian Wars and the Indian Removal Act. The population numbers went on depleting with huge massacres taking place in the continent, demolishing many tribes and families.
As people came from various backgrounds, they all had different ideologies in mind and indulged in different practices. The tribes followed a long list of religions that were majorly based on Christianity but additions were done with time based on individual experiences. Native Americans history tells about evolution of religions including Longhouse, Dreamer, Indian Shaker, Drum, Earth Lodge, Ghost Dances and Ghost Dance religion, Bole Maru, Dream Dance, Feather and Peyote. All of these are still practiced as some notable personalities try to take their teaching further with time.
